Yes, it's ok the bike like Mike said. The routes inside-through the park, even when wide enough, are more for pedestrians. Usually biking is done around, through the street that "surround" the park core. It has almost no traffic at very slow speed. I used to bike I skate there.
Yes, there are no bike paths on the east end but there are some on the west end beyond the baseball fields.
