Hi Santiago, the word Hammock means amaca in Spanish. If you search the internet you might find who assigned the name to the district. Kendall Hammocks is the name of the community and I imagine that because of that they named the park. If I had to guess why the name would say that the last ones who came to these lands saw that the American Indians had many amacas hanging all over the village and decided to call her by name.
