Yes it is, but you may want to generally avoid getting close enough to see which bands of color are touching. Plus, it isn't actually poison! Coral snakes are venomous, not poisonous.

Yea you don't get to be close, unless of course you are sort of an actual scientist and then you'd know by then

Thank you, Kaitrinn Hannen. Good point, I neglected to recall the difference between venom and poison, but I remember the late Bill Haast telling my class that creepy little ditty.
