Hi Marlon. The Mission provides emergency overnight shelter and transitional (temporary) housing for people who are looking for permanent housing. Some agencies provide permanent housing for certain guests, but we do not.

There's no income limit to stay at Boston Rescue Mission, so you probably could live there until you save up enough to buy your own house or until you retire. That said, you would need to be a very early morning person, because you have to get up around 5:30 am. It wouldn't be possible if you work on an afternoon/evening or overnight shift. Also, I believe they have a first come first serve policy, and I don't think they let people stay during the day. So as long as you get in line by late afternoon (I think around 4pm or so) you would probably be able to get a spot every day. I think there might be housing advocates there, but it takes years even for elderly disabled people in Boston to get an "affordable" ($3000+ per month) unit. And unless you live in the mountains there in NC, you might want to wait till Spring to give yourself time to acclimate to the weather here. P.S. If you bring a car to Boston, you can leave it parked at Logan for years, but anywhere else you WILL be towed!!
