any recent rattle snake bites? I hiked it this Saturday morning and encountered two rattlers and one attacked me and i was not even close enough to be a threat hence the reason it failed to bit me it fell at least three feet short of making contact

We're getting into breeding season now. Watch out for their dens! Rattlers are very protective of their eggs and young.
