One of the nicest places along palos verdes area. There is a nice big parking lot available at no cost. Picnic tables and large grass areas to just relax and play ball. The trails lead north and south with great scenery and for miles. Great place for photos for a date and even to just get in a great jog or hike.

The center has a very friendly and informative staff. The guide was very kind and told us a lot of interesting facts about the place and showed the new exposition of the former light that was replaced. Will defiantly come back to take more pictures and get more memories.

If you are looking for a very pretty place to catch the sunset… this is it!!! The view was amazingggg!! They have picnic table so you can even sit and eat! I saw a birthday party happening! Which look so pretty with the sunset as background 😍 definitely coming back!

Today was more of a walking day. Previously I've gone into the center & explored thru the exhibits. The trails are wide & well maintained. Ample parking at the center makes this a popular spot for walking along the top of the bluffs & picnicking. Inside the center is a gift shop & very cool science/historical exhibits focused on the local area. There is no fee for any of this. Donations are always welcome. Restrooms are accessible both inside & out of the building.

Yes you can weddings here!
This is an ideal spot for a wedding. You might also want to look at the neighborhood church in Palos Verdes. That said... I don't know about the prices.
I think the park is open until sunset
Parking can be crowded especially on weekends but there is an overflow makeshift parking area on the dirt area as you drive in.
You have to bring your own binoculars. I don't recall the interpretative center renting them out. Grays are counted December through March maybe April. I have seen Grays swimming by. Stay within ear shot of the volunteers and they will say which direction to look. Right now Blues are out there. I don't know if they swim close enough to see them with your naked eye. Go and bring a good pair of binoculars and look for their blow.
December through April for Gray Whales. They have volunteers that sit there and count them. If you stand nearby you can hear them say where to look if they spot a blow. Summer months Blues are around. 50/50 chance of seeing a whale anytime you go.
