Depends on the airline carrier. Some won't charge but have a limit on the amount and weight of your bag and some charge per bag with a weight limit.

It depends by sizes. Small started around at 79.99 at one of the stores when I was shopping.
I think its 40 pounds now but it might depend on the airline, i was on frontier and will never fly frontier again really bad experience with them i even bought insurance so if i had to cancel and rebook but they don't follow through and still end up charging you an extra 1200
I always fly Southwest because they allow 2 bags of any size checked free (as long as each weighs 50 pounds or less) plus 1 carry-on along with a backpack or purse! All other airlines charge differently per bag size & weight!
