You do not need a license to fish from a public pier.

you dont need a license to fish from a man made structure such as a pier. you can look up the specifics on google, but i have done extensive research, and spoken to a game warden personally, and i have been fishing off of different public piers for 5 years. if you were to fish from any spot on the shoreline, then you would need to purchase a license, otherwise you would be subject to heavy fines and possible arrest.

Yes you need a license, but if you're careful you can probably get away without one! But I would recommend just buying one.
