Any advice on transportation to and from instead of driving?

I always drive. Its not bad at all.

Uber is great there

Take the VTA bus 40 from its route stop around the area, which is just $2 per adult.

Get dropped off at the dog park right outside the venue. An uber works fine. Just don't have them drop you off on Shoreline because people will start yelling.

For now it seems Uber or bus would be an additional option until BART is built to go there
