Not really. Some staff will check bags some won't. They have to make money somehow ;)
Snacks like granola and power bars I don't think they care.
Well i brought snacks and they didn't check so i think so.
They say no outside food but lets just say i forgot i had some snacks in my backpack. They aren't going to search your backpack/bags.
