Last year all disabled vets with a va id can use the px and commissary the problem is getting access to the base.
Yes, but your letter has to say your 100% to get an ID. So if your 30% disability caused you to lose your job or become disabled. I recommend for you file more claims so you can get up to 70% especially if you had feet on ground in Vietnam. Agent orange, your hearing, feet and any type of cancer's you incurred over the years. Ask for an increase of you original claim due to secondary issues that have come up. Depression, and PTSD and many other things can also be claimed from your service. Once over 70% you can ask for total disability then your letter says 100% it will qualify you for the ID. Talk to the DAV organization to help with claims. If your computer savvy go on their website and file yourself. Write down every medical and psychological issue you've had since Nam and claim it. Have your personal records from every doctor you've been to since Nam to submit as evidence. Good Luck Sir and Thank you for your service.
Right now the policy are active and retirees with over 20yrs of service. But I would call the Commissary itself due to some changes in requirements. I'm sorry I could not provide more help.
