No no permit needed to launch kayaks that I know of... FWC only checks the launches for fish catches and fishing license requirements. There is also another fishing pier just about a mile north at another county park. Its on the same road and Kayakers launch from there too and the fishing is excellent in the winter. Not to mention there is a bait and tackle store in between the two parks... Hope this helps parking meters were not opeerational when I was there last week. Jan 07 2018
