Typically I will cut the tips off at an angle and put whatever packet they gave you, in it. Change the water every couple of days.

Hi Karen, great question! There are many ways to extend the life of flowers. Hyacinth provided a great answer. We suggest as soon as you receive your flowers to recut the stems at a 45 degree angle - which allows for the most water to be absorbed through the stems. Don't use scissors to cut as this can tighten the stems. Instead try a sharp knife (carefully) or use floral scissors. We recommend keeping flowers out of direct sunlight and changing the water every couple of days to avoid bacteria growth. If you have any other questions, please give us a call and we'd be happy to help! Keep in mind some flowers have longer lifespans than others.
