Yes. I have 2 that won't open. D size. I'm hoping they will repair them. I think their aluminum reacts easily to certain alkaline batteries. Happened all at once. Both! Fricken Harbor Freight I'll bet.

Sounds like the battery leaked and corroded the threads. Contact the warranty dept at Mag Instrument Inc. They should be able to help out.

It is likely that the battery has corroded inside and now it's stuck shut. Send it back, with the fee requested on their site, and theu will open amd clean it. Then check the battery every three months (I mark it on my calender for a Saturday) and replace any that seem to week.
