Yes you have to work. No you're not locked in. Six hours a week we have "class", NA, AA, church twice a week, amongst other opportunities for community service.
It's a halfway house. You can work the first day ypu are there. And they help you find a job. And all your food down to stuff for lunches and coffee and everything is included in your rent. I ate like 150 to 200 dollars a week of food when i was there.
