Harvest house took me in when no one else would due to lack of financial support. Thanks to them I got a second chance and family of amazing people to help me on my journey. I'm forever grateful to this program and highly recommend to all that are suffering from addiction and looking for real change! They will provide you with all the resources that you need for the road to recovery and a better life. It was an amazing journey with amazing women (special thanks to Linda, Darla, and Lisa) that I will always hold near and dear to my heart!

Very disappointed with our experience. My brother stayed at the Harvest House. He passed away on their premises. We (his family) from out of state came to collect his things and organize his funeral. I made multiple attempts to contact someone. Left messages, and when I finally got in touch with someone I was assured his important vital records (in their possession) would be sent to us (his next of kin/parents). It never happened. Harvest House- this is an awfully pathetic display of sympathy for “one of your own” that you’re trying to help in their time of need. It’s too bad there are desperate people that need their services, and this place could be their only choice.

The credentials and criteria for help need updating severely. We were told we could get help with temporary housing, apparently only if you have kids. This service for the community is great and the work they do as well but people shouldn't be looking for help from these services if they fall on hard times.

The Freedom program fee is approximately $200 per week, including housing, utilities, groceries, case management, job placement, and all addiction recovery programming. We do not take insurance or Medicaid.
how is it possible to pay 200.00 week when coming from an institution and family members are on fixed income they will not be able to pay 200 a week for there loved one and then not pay there own rent in full. If this 501c why is there not any grants? There should be allocated money from sources and government grants to help person asking for help. 200.00 is absolutely greed not of god... of greed
We beleive personal responsbilty is one of the keys to living a sustainably sober life, so we require all of our clients to be engaged full time. We also have funds set aside to help new clients keep up with the fees as they work to get back on their feet. Our case managers and staff are dedicated to helping clients find both temporary work and long term careers. We also like to look at the program fee as "skin in the game." The Freedom program fees cover rent, utilities, and all of the other elements of the addcition recovery portion including classes, counseling, supplemental groceries, drug tests, and other crucial engagement activities such as yoga, meditation, and art therapy. We also work to meet the unique needs of every individual we serve. Depending on need and availability, we're also able to offer bus passes or bicycles for those struggling with transportation issues, personal care items, help with resume preparation or proper attire for a job interview, and more.
Please call us at 941-953-3154 for program details and availability.

Hardly ever does someone get suspended for minor infractions.... You just get put on a disciplinary report and get your weekend visitations and furloughs taken... it is a wonderful place can a good atmosphere but if you are not ready and then it doesn't matter where you go you're not going to get clean

Case Managers work with clients to make sure the transition to sustainable housing is as smooth as possible. We help clients find a job as soon as possible and there are programs available to postpone or find other sources of funding for rent and program fees. We beleive that personal responsibility is a key to freedom! We offer religious programming one night each week that is optional for adults in the residential recovery programs. Visit our website HarvestHouseCenters.org for more information.
Yes you have to work. No you're not locked in. Six hours a week we have "class", NA, AA, church twice a week, amongst other opportunities for community service.
