As you can see it varies depending on how fast you can walk. On average the ~3 miles around the Reservoir trail depending if you walk all the options takes about 1 hour to 1.5 hours depending if you make any stops. The Rim trail is almost twice as long and hillier in 3 locations so expect to take twice as long or longer and always carry water, snacks, cell phone, first aid with you.

I generally walk it in 50-55 minutes. Often take pictures along the way.

It's worth noting that parking is 2 hours max. My wife and I tried walking the rim trail (prettier and much less crowded, but longer), and we didn't finish in 2 hours... probably would have taken 2h 15m if we hadn't taken a shortcut back to the car. However, I'm a slow walker. My wife has walked the rim trail many times in 1.5 hours.

From 1 hour to 1.5 if you walking really slowly

Mike Carpentier | Aug 27, 2018

About an hour

Brian Kotler | Aug 27, 2018

It took my wife, me and our 3 month old about 1.5 hours because we stopped and took pictures along the way.

park at bottom at first intersection towards town and walk up to res. You park for free and get an extra half mile. Whole thing will take 1.25 hours, best exercise and at your own pace.

Sean Sarras | Aug 27, 2018

1-2 hours

Sabrina Bennett | Aug 27, 2018

Its 2.7 miles so about an hour, give or take depending on how fast you walk

If you only do the paved trail, 50 minutes. If you do just the rim trail, about 90 minutes, without the time you'll stop to take in the views and birds. You can access the rim trail from a couple different places and do just a little bit, so the time will vary. You'll take a little less time than what I said here if you're a regular walker/runner.

There are several ways around. The paved trail that is mostly flat and is near to the waters edge in many places is a 40 to 50 minute walk. It has several access points to the rim trail which can therefore either be a full 5 mile hike with hills and views and fewer people or choose to do any smaller part and come back down to the paved trail again.
