If I buy my own kart to hangout for a while in the track, do I still need to pay for how many sessions or no?

I was wondering since I would love to go there and rent a kart for a couple of laps, do I also need to rent the helmet, gloves and the outfit or only the helmet and the gloves is necessary? Also do I have to make an appointment to be able to go and rent a kart or can I go whenever I'd like?
