Hello Jade, where the dogs stay while boarding with the RuffHouse is reviewed on a daily basis and is dependent upon a few variables such as; how many boarders we have and the breakdown of large, medium, small and teacup guests. We also consider a boarders socialization levels, temperament, disposition, health and age, if the males have been neutered and last but not least if they stay indoors, outdoors or both when they are at home. The guests that come here are extremely spoiled in their daily lives and have no problems being in common areas. More often than not large and small breed guest come together so it's not a problem keeping them with other large and small breeds. Certain breeds are just to big and strong to stay with the other guests. Having 8 different yards gives us the flexibility we need to insure their safety. In regards to Virginia's response below we do not now nor have we ever kept small breeds in a line of cages outside as all small breeds stay indoors.
They usually keeps small dogs together in the house. My very small jack russel had no issues.
I have a yorkie and a maltie terrier mix and they kept them in the line of cages next to the dogs outside
