No, and it is covered in State Park Provisions as follows: "4307. Geological Features.  No person shall destroy, disturb, mutilate, or remove earth, sand, gravel, oil, minerals, rocks, paleontological features, or features of caves except rockhounding may be permitted as defined and delineated in Sections 4610 through 4610.10."

That answer is No. I have been a volunteer in Cuyamaca Rancho State Park for many years. At a state park, you are not to take anything. Not even a pinecone. The park is for all to enjoy.

It's a state park so I doubt they allow digging. Panning is legal in year round steams only. Check with the local camp host. No metal detectors allowed.
