Is there anywhere else to camp near the three pools if this place is full?

Yes. Several before Shady Cove. If ya go during week day before mid afternoon you shouldn't have a problem getting a spot.

There are places along the road/river. Pretty sure no fire are allowed at them. There are several camping areas within 10 miles of there

I dont remember. I think so. Google campgrounds near Opal creek watershed. Thats what i did. I loved the campground. Rustic. And sites are spaced out a bit. Next to the river. Very tranquil.
