No you can drive through the area. There are plenty of places to stop and hike for better views.

Yes and no. You can drive to see the beauty with pullovers. Then you can take a short hike down to enjoy the sand on your feet and the beautiful waves crashing in.

There are several short walks such as cape ferrelo, natural bridge,Arch Rock and thunder Rock cove and Indian Sands that have beautiful scenery.In fact the scene at the extreme south end of the Indian Sands area is one of the great scenes of North America.

It's mostly a drive with several places you can pull over to view but there are several short walks and longer hikes if desired. I recommend lone ranch beach. Absolutely stunning and just a short walk to get to the beach

The hike to the bridge is steep in places and some loose ground and then its hard to actually see

No, the drive along 101 is beautiful, and there are beaches and lookouts you can drive to.

You can see a lot just from driving, but there are also various walking and hiking opportunities. The information office is very helpful!
