No, the Sacramento Delta region
Sorry to disagree with a fellow guide, but it is nowhere near Lodi. I know this from being a wine club member of Bogle for over 20 years. Clarksburg (where it is) is less than 15 miles from downtown Sacramento. That area has several wineries, some only open Friday to Sunday; others, like Bogle open every day. There is also the "Old Sugar Mill' in Clarksburg...with 14 wineries doing tasting. Another attraction in Clarksburg is "Husick's", a former hardware store, now restaurant, with great barbecue and other dishes. Nextdoor to Husick's, another local winery, "Twisted Rivers" has opened a tasting room/art gallery. The Delta town of Freeport has the Wine Country Inn, a B&B and bistro. El Dorado County and Amador County also have many wineries. Napa has become a winery Disneyland. Wineries there require reservations, charge beaucoup bucks, which is not applied to the purchase price. The wineries I am talking about either have free tastings or charge a fee applied to any wine purchased.
They are in general area of the Lodi wine region which is known for Zinfandels. There are many other varietals throughout the area too.
The tasting room is a good hour from Napa wine country, but there is an extensive wine tasting route around Sacramento.
Clarksburg, CA near Elk Grove.
They're just 20 minutes from downtown Sacramento, a 25 dollar uber ride!
