There is an admission fee to tour the mansion, or you can pay just to drive up the access road and enjoy the grounds. It's a beautiful drive, but costs almost as much as access with full admission for 2 included. However, there is FREE access to the property if you don't wish to do the tour or use the scenic driveway access road. The parking area at the top of the property can be accessed from a public road, for free. So you can still get to the cafe or ice cream stand, enjoy the pond, walk the grounds outside the mansion and miles of hiking trails. Worth doing if you've toured the mansion before. I believe the incorrect gps directions they tell you to ignore on their website is the back (free) entry to the parking lot, which passes the stables and bottling plant.
