I have a leased vehicle. Have a nail in tire that is not repairable. Is there coverage for this? Is it necessary to purchase the same brand tire?

Unfortunately a nail in your tire is not covered by any type of warranty with a new vehicle due to road hazard. Although it is recommended to replace the tire with the factory recommended brand you can replace the tire with the correct size and speed rating for your vehicle with any brand you choose.

Check your insurance re road hazard coverage. It is good policy to match all tires at all times.
