I also have had only positive experiences with their staff. If you were being rude or you or your party were intoxicated at the time of making the reservation that could be cause for refusal.
The restaurant can handle the number in your party, maybe it was the timing of your request. I can't imagine anyone on that particular staff being rude to you, not saying you didn't feel the way you feel...but I've only had positive interactions with this particular restaurant they always want to please their patrons.
