Is it normal to have to send a picture of my drivers license and if I don't they won't hold my reservation & I'll lose $ because I'm not ok w this?

Hi Susan. To make the initial reservation, we only need a one-night deposit for guarantee. If you want to payoff the balance (pay for your stay before arrival) and are paying via a credit card authorization form, then we ask for a copy of the driver's license and credit card (you can blackout the last 4 numbers for security reasons). Reason is, we need to make sure the name on the card matches the name/signature on the authorization form and the driver's license. You can always blackout the birthday, date issued, etc. We only need the signature and name. I hope this helps but if you have any more concerns, please feel free to call us and one of our onsite reservation agents will be happy to help with any of your questions. We hope you enjoy your stay at the beach!

You have the option to book your stay via pmt of 1 ngt. Once you are there you can pay for balance via cash to avoid your concern, bring certified check, as they simply want to have your signature to compare with the one on credit card and driver's license proof your the same person so they may avoid people who aren't who they claim. Your signatures on c.c., license & resort check in paperwork. I am sure you can cover up all other personal data. We've never had a single breech of personal data via any stay @ TradeWinds Island Grand Resort or any of their other property's. Enjoy your stay as I expect you'll become a loyal guest once you have stayed there. Huge population of returning guests.

Not to reserve. They did ask for it at check in. I would call back. Get someone else.

Usually a credit card is sufficient...sounds hinky to me

Rocky Hill | Aug 25, 2019

No...sounds like BS to me. I would have them copy me with this policy. If there is in fact a legal policy, what is the reason.
