Minerals hotel is closer to the mountain than Grand Cascades, but you will need to use the shuttle service provided by the resort (or pay for parking and then walk 5-10 minutes from the parking lot. Minerals is less than a mile from the mountain, while the trip from Cascades probably takes 10 minutes by car. Keep in mind that if you're walking the hotel reception desk is a mile or more from the property entrance, do you need to add that to the distances listed above.
There are 2 hotels. Minerals Hotel is at the base of Mountain Creek's central mountain, Granite Peak (there are 3 mountains all connected). The other hotel, Grand Cascades Lodge, is about 2-3 miles away with a complimentary shuttle.
You need to use shuttle from everthing at this place....somethings you can drive but you have to check with hotel
