Both are good but I personally prefer the night tours. Salem is very beautiful at night.
This is a historical tour, so it will not be a "spooky" tour if you're looking for that. Either day or night would be fine. It has been getting very cold at night, though. Dress accordingly.

Agree with all previous comments. However, I think seeing Salem at dusk and in the early part of the night made the history much more affecting and just a really phenomenal tour.
