I landed in Winter Garden in 1984 I swear they took the sidewalks in at 4 p.m. nothing there nothing slowly in time Winter Garden has become one of the most beautiful towns there is no comparison with Mount Dora two totally different themes on Saturday they have a farmers market there's also a big indoor market very dog friendly filled with fun places to go if you have nothing better to do you owe it to yourself to take a Saturday and go play in Downtown Winter Garden
It's not quite as "artsy," and I'm not sure how much of a music scene there is, but it has great restaurants and a wonderful feel about it. If you like Mount Dora, I think you'll like Winter Park. Take a Saturday or Sunday and check it out!
I feel like Winter Garden has grown into a great big hit spot of activity, especially on Plant St. There used to be no one around and now it's packed all the time especially the weekends. The farmers market downtown is great and there's a lot of nice shops to check out, bars, a theatre, a splash pad, a brewery, the indoor marketplace and activities on the weekends that draw crowds with lots of family's. It's really a nice spot but right around the corner from downtown is Lake Apopka and a nice sprawling park on the water ( great to watch fireworks right over your head on 4th of July ) with a park for the kiddos and a pier where you can catch the most beautiful sunsets and a gator sighting or two lol. If you can't tell, I do love WG. There's also plenty of public parks, the bike trail, a nice library, a mall and you're literally able to see the fireworks going off at Disney! It's a great place to visit and live. I'd highly recommend it. The only drawback now is the traffic 😋
