I'm a 66 year old female and I have been a widow for 7 years. I pretty much live in isolation now. No friends in Moreno Valley. I'm looking for a friend or two who might have a shared experience. A group of nice, kind and caring friends???

Hi I’m Sandra I also live here in Moreno Valley I am 74 years old have a little dog named Oden real cute little guy he’s my main companion, I live in a house pretty much by myself no family close around in handicapped would just like to be around some other people my own age and be able to talk and visit once in a while it would be nice I lost my son August 20, 2017 he was 51 years old and killed in a head on collision he was my youngest out of my three children that was a pretty heartbreaking time still lives it’s something that you never get over. I was married my husband left me three years ago for someone else I guess he didn’t like to be with someone that couldn’t walk without a wheelchair anymore kind of sad So I am not married if anyone’s interested in just talking to me or getting to know who I am that would be nice

I live on Davis Street just off of Ironwood pretty much a shut in as I can’t drive anymore I’d like to go over to the senior center but I don’t know how to get there I don’t know if anyone could even take me anyway anyone wants to call me and talk on the phone or text me let me know and I’ll be glad to send you my phone number

Hi Jan, I can relate so much. My husband of many years passed 2004. Our kids were 17,12, and 6 yr old twins! I isolated myself for so long it started just necessity as working full time, Caring for 4 children, going to school to become a teacher so I can have same vacations as kids and zero time left for me. All friends finally stopped calling as I did not pick up the phone. I felt I was so depressed, I’d rather not make anyone else know how bad it was. So, I did not date at all for over 8 years but now in 2013 I remarried but I still cry over Andrew if things come up reminding me of him. Kids grown.. for the most part and not too many friends as I’ve isolated myself through my depression and utter grief. I can relate and you can talk tome or text me anytime! I’m in Moreno Valley too. Let me know I know for me asking or calling for help was the hardest part so you’re half way there! Monica

I am not sure how to post this so i am hoping this gets on i am 69 and have some health problems but can walk and get around i drive but do not have a car. It looks like these post. Hi Jan, I love going to the Senior Center, for the exercise classes. There is one called Fit after 50 that is good for all levels of fitness. They also have other classes to check out or just visit.

I was there for a foster parents class but my aunt goes there, she loves it and it seemed like a great place to interact and make friends. You should go and check it out. It couldn't hurt. 💝

I am curious as to why the center does not offer transportation. Our senior centers in Illinois sure do. So many seniors do not drive and do not have nonworking family members to transport them during the day. This lack of service is adding unnecessarily to their isolation.
