Can you see the NHM and the La Brea Tar Pits within the same day (the Tar Pits is included in the NHM entrance ticket now)? Is it worth it or would you recommend visiting each of them on different days?

Technically you could but I recommend doing them seperately

Hi. Yes! You could visit both! But, for better experience, best to do one park, per day .

I recommend to separate the visits unless you are looking to breeze through the exhibits. The natural history museum has lots of information to immerse yourself in. Outside the NHM, there is exhibition park which you could also spend some time there afterwards. La brea is a slightly shorter visit however it's nice place to enjoy a picnic!

You could do both in one day, but I wouldn't recommend it. The two museums are not close to each other, and there's enough content in each to spend a few hours in.

Yes. Unless you are a deep into history person and want to read each thing or see each add on show. They are not near each other. I bet you could do one in morning and other in afternoon.

You could do both one one visit, but it will be a long day, but still doable. For lunch, theres a chick fila across the street, and they make a good chicken sandwich there!

I would recommend visiting each on different days, for sure! The NHM will take 3-4 hours, but there is so much else to see on that campus, especially if you have never been. Don't forget to have lunch at the California Science Center, see the space shuttle. Check out the amazing rose garden across the street, then walk to the end of the street to see the airplane parked on the corner! You may even want to check out an IMAX movie 🎥🍿

I would recommend different days there is quite a bit to see and could be a lot for just one day to experience it enjoy fully and is a lot of walking.

That would be a lot of walking if there are small children. The Museum of Natural History is pretty large. If you picked the exhibits that you wanted to see at The Museum of Natural History, you could do all of the Labrea Tar Pits in under an hour and a half.

When I bought the tickets they weren't included at the time but if they are now I would say it's best to split up the days. Seeing as how you'll be doing a lot of walking, it's very tiring to just keep walking all day and specially with the heat and the way things have been lately. Other then that it's a pretty great way to just do something different.
