the doctors would often put me on restrictive diets... to measure specific results... so just ask before you bring any outside food in to your hospital room...
It depends on whether the patient is on any dietary restrictions. Just ask a nurse, if it's okay to do they'll happily let you.
As Linda said, it depends. Some treatments make a patient suspectable to infection which prohibits outside food. You will need to talk to staff on that hospital unit.
Call the main line number or number to the clinic where the patient has been admitted and ask to speak to the admitting nurse. Depending on the patient's procedure or medications, the patient may have dietary restrictions.
