You should call City of Hope 626 471 7171. You want to do a directed donation, which I've done a couple of times. I'll give some answers, but they are just general info and may not be accurate. For blood, you need to be 110 pounds +. You must be free of blood borne disease (hepatitis, HIV for example). Your type must match the intended recipient. I've never donated stem cells so can't help you with that question. I'm a regular platelet donor there. I like the organisation. You get no pay, just some lorna dunes, juice, and a thank you from COH and the person you are helping. It's worthwhile doing.
