My brother was there for a bit and he did not have complaints. The staff seems caring. I liked that we could take homemade or any food from outside and visits any day of the week.
Most definitely, your son would benefit greatly while there. I just retired from Metropolitan state hospital after 30 years. The staff are very compassionate towards the patients. They have all the resources needed to best suit your sons needs. I’ve witnessed nothing less than miracles. I know about all the horror stories about Metro but that’s just what they are, Stories. I always said that if I ever needed help with my mental status that I wanted to be there.
Seems like they are just feeding my husband zombie medicine. No counseling, no nothing. All he does is sleep. He there short term for court and in one months time he's do withdrawn, monatone, blah. Where's my funny, happy, joking, loving man? Zombie like in one month. straight to tell them that the medicine is too strong he's getting ticks and his hands are shaking they don't do anything he says they don't care they act like that he's not even speaking to them I don't understand. just feeding bills at night to make him sleep getting some of the morning to counteract it but he still can't kick it is too strong
