Visit: the museum; near International Terminal A, other museums areas around the airport food areas.
This is a large international airport with four major terminals, so it depends upon which airline you're flying. The International Terminal (which also serves some domestic flights) has a museum, as well as, some lovely shops and decent restaurants. Terminal 2 currently has an interesting exhibit on the Typewriter. I just finished eating a wonderful, fairly authentic dish street taco dish over a beer (I opted for the local draft, Anchor Steam, but they have several other draft and bottled beers, including Negro Modelo) at Andale.' Terminal 2 serves American, Virgin America and Alaska. There are a handful of nice shops, a bookstore and two newsstands in addition to several good restaurants (some of them, like Andale', are local favs)! I also like Napa Farms -- good food, lots of takeout options, a decent wine selection and some good breads and pastries. If you're looking for a quick bite of San Francisco without leaving the airport try Napa Farms or checkout the wine bar nextdoor.
