Greetings of love. I am a 67 years old who is an amateur astronomer. As I have heard great things about the Cherry Springs State Park, I would like to visit around August 13, 2018 with two friends. Is it possible to predict how dark the sky is?

Please check lunar calendar and the best day is during new moon. Also note that the weather up there changes constantly.

11th is new moon. Its Saturday. Best night to view the stars and galaxies.

Check the lunar phases. New moon would be the darkest.
