Yes you are correct. You need a rubberband and red cellophane.
You can take pictures with your cell if you block your screen (even the lowest brightness is annoying to others when everything is pitch black out), but they won't come out very good. At a minimum you need a tripod and a camera with a decent sensor.
I tried to take a picture in the parking lot when we were leaving but it was no use. It was a blurr. Lol Probably will need a special type of camera/equipment like they've stated above. Good luck!
Yes, you can take pictures with your cell phone 👍 Just do your research on your particular phone to see what works best for what you have & be thoughtful of others! Anything is possible if you plan ahead... 🍀Good Luck🍀
You can take pictures but I wouldn't recommend it cause the light from cellphone or camera screen is going to ruin the view for those next to or nearby... I made myself jump when I forgot to put my phone on vibrate... It's a public place, just be courtesy to others around you. #redlightForSky
You CAN take pics with your cellphone but you SHOULD make sure to be respectful of astrophotographers. Lookup amatuer astrophotography on google there are lots recommendations even using cellphones, including the use of red screen filters to prevent disrupting other photographers. also note the campsites at the top of the hill by the ovservation field offer really good views at night.
Not sure, there were many people using the phone for light to walk, others had lights with red plastic them. This a lot of light from the millions of stars. Suggest you will get a wonderful memories just being there
