I agree it is NUTS. That being said, part could be that cashiers called out 😡 leaving a shortage 😒. No replacements. We can "blame" management all we want. Sometimes its corporate that gives them a certain budget. It sucks for everyone, customers, cashiers, and supervisors alike. I know this first hand. Please be kind. Appreciate that these employees are ESSENTIAL WORKERS and do deserve some respect. They are all doing the best they can with what they have. .
