They are a very busy unusually small restaurant layout that makes any distraction a problem in their ability to serve customers. They sometimes are blunt, but the quality and amount of food trumps a little shortness. The taste of their desserts is a stong draw and they sell out early. I did not find their sometime shortness enough of a negative to not frequent that restaurant.
When I was with my family we had a great experience. One waitresses was a little rude while bluntly telling another patron to wait outside until his party was called. He was in the way and disrtubting the flow of this fast paced small restaurant. She also bluntly told a larger party they could not butt up tables. I thought her bluntness was refreshing. If you are getting in their way they will let you know. I went there for supurb fish and chips not for someone bend over backwards for me. I could careless if the waitress was rude she was only trying to ensure fast efficient service. I would recommend this restaurant and will definitely go back just dont slow them down 😉
You missed out on great food. Everyone was very friendly when we were there. Very helpful with information and history of the area. Even gave my son free cookies for his birthday.
The lady seems to joke, I can see it being taken the wrong way.
Just the opposite! She let us come in right before they closed and served us. Very nice and accommodating. The food was great!

I eat at this restaurant roughly 8 times a year and never encountered any rudeness from anyone, ever. Curious as to what REALLY happened...
As I saw when I did visit that restaurant the staff cannot normally work because of tired , cranky and unhappy from many customers.
