There is a workaround. Have someone with membership buy you a gift cash card. This will allow you to go in and make purchases.
Costco membership is needed for everything except for the food bar area
As far as I know you cannot. I base this on having to present my card when I purchase my glasses.
They will require a Costco membership for prescription glasses.
