As a tourist, I didnt know parking next to a fire hydrant is such a serious crime that u can have a car impounded. No warning signs, curb didnt paint, nothing that remotely hints me of not parking next to hydrant.

Yeah its pretty important in CA where we are in a drought & fires burn constantly. You'll also see blue markers in the middle of the road. Those are to mark fire hydrants
