There is no onsite equipment rental. goldengatejoad.com offers classes on Saturday mornings (advance sign up required), equipment included. Bows can be rented from San Francisco Archery, a store a number of blocks from the range ( http://www.bysel.com/sfarch/ ) - call in advance to make sure the store is open as the owner might be at the range. The range is free, first come first serve serve. It gets busy on weekends.
I second San Francisco Archery, the store owner Eddie, is very knowledgable up to Intermediate and a little beyond.
