This trail is part of the Pacific Crest Trail where there can be restrictions for dogs. However, the short answer to your question is:Yes, it's o.k. with a leash, water, snacks, and a method to "pack out the poop" That's good trail etiquette--- even for humans. Enjoy the hike, take lots of pictures!

It is a very exposed trail. Make sure it is not a very hot day. I've seen dogs overheated and carried out on this trail, especially small dogs

Yes, dogs should always be leashed, even though many choose to lets the dogs run free. Rattlesnake bites to the dogs are a perfect reason for the leashes.
