It's my understanding that they are behind on unloading trailers. I've been to the customer center, in Petaluma, three times checking on a package that was supposed to be delivered almost a month ago. If it's a big one, >50 lbs., it's probably on one of those trailers. If it's smaller you may have a chance that they can get it for you if you show up.
Yes I had the same problem with a really big shipment for my business. They finally called me and said to come pick them up if I wanted to, but you can just show up in person between 9:00 a.m. and 11:00 p.m. with your ID and you can pick up the package.
It has been 8 days since I first received a notification that my package was to be delivered that day, but still no delivery. I have a UPS My Choice Account but I have not been able to change my shipment to be picked up; for the past three days, the website has been telling me that they are having technical difficulties.
Sign up for a free UPS my choice account and change your shipment to be picked up. About 24 hours later you will be notified that you can pick it up. Pick up hours are limited to 9-10:30 am and 3-6 pm. they're the only ones doing the really large packages so they are really backed up and don't have space for everything on the trucks.
