I have a mid-twentieth century Stetson straw hat I would like it resized from its current size of 7&1/4 to the size 7&1/8. It also needs a cleaning, a new sweat band and some repair on its original pleated leather hatband. Do you perform these rest?

Hello Allen - thank you for your message. Unfortunately, I'm unable to replace sweat bands, nor repair the hatband. In my experience, hatbands are typically replaced, not repaired and I do have a pretty good line up of new replacement hatbands in-stock and many many more can certainly be ordered. Inside sweat bands are replaced at the factory (Stetson), but I've found that the fee is steep (especially when shipping is factored in). As for resizing the hat, making it smaller, this can often times be done by inserting a foam liner (which we have here) thus a 1/8" smaller size shouldn't be a problem. Lastly, you asked about cleaning the hat - we do provide that service, but I would need to see your hat before I could comment on how successful the project would be and what the price would be.
