Pets fixed at our facility are given an injectable pain medication that lasts approximately 24 hours, and we also offer additional pain medications for owners to go home with and administer orally if they like. I foster for catscan rescue and we get then fixed at 2 lbs. I drop them off in the morning and when I pick them up they come home and run around like little maniacs. The younger they are the easier it is on them.
