From experience, they treat their fish.. just ok. Look at the tanks before you buy. Are there dead fish, or snails? Is anything moving around slowly or strangle? Are any of the fish notable red around the gills, fuzzy or injured looking? Stay away from anything suspicious. Ive had to learn that the hard way a few times. My trusted source would be Ceasars fish off Piner, they quarantine, treat, feed their fish very well and train there staff pretty well. In general, I've had a goldfish that lived something like 12 years, but I wouldn't expect anything more than 1 to 5 for the average goldfish owner. If you want to do right by your soon to be fish friend, learn the basics from the staff at Caesars or online, well in advance, buy the handful of supplies you'll need, and season your tank. Give it a few days up to a week to temper the water and tank. Then get your fish, maintain its tank, watch it grow and take pride in it's health and happiness for many years to come. Good luck.

I buy fish from them and I have no complaints. I buy tropical fish so I am not sure about the goldfish but I know they are always doing water changes regularly and feeding with live and high quality foods. This is a much better option than a petco for sure.
