It’s a very nice and right size of winery with a self tour lavender garden. We selected the picnic table with 50$ reservation. And this is refunded with 4 bottles of purchase. I would say the 2018 Sauvignon Blanc really surprised me with refreshing taste. I also really love getting out to the fields of lavender lands!

Our tasting at Matanzas was the highlight of our Sonoma trip! Some really fun wines -- both the white and red wine lovers in our party were impressed and couldn't leave without a few bottles. The Journey collection and red blends, in particular, were very memorable. Thanks Janessa for taking such good care of us and introducing us to the history and wines of Matanzas!

One of my favorite wineries, beautiful and peaceful way to spend the day. When the lavender fields are in full bloom they are amazing!

We had booked a wine tasting session here which we thoroughly enjoyed. For the novices we were when it came to wine tasting, it was a bit of a challenge to understand the process. But, it was a great experience and we learned new things about wines and how they're made. In particular, we like their Chardonnay. They offer a cheese board with wine tasting which is $30 when we visited. That's a nice touch to the experience.

I was there few days ago, they starting to harvest the flowers. I don't think it will be much left by July 28. They were all bloomed last week

HI Kim, no our Lavender has not yet been harvested. We will begin harvest in July. We don't harvest all of the lavender though, so there will still be plenty to see through July. See you soon. Best, Vicky - Tasting Room Manager.

Do we need a permit to take engagement photos in the lavender fields?

When I was there, they seemed to encourage taking pictures in the lavender, but you should still ask first.

I'm planning to go this long weekend but I am on a tight budget, so I would like to know: The wine tasting is $10, and then can you have a meal after that in the same place? Is the food good? Which is the price range for a meal? Thank you!

I don't believe they offer full meals, only wine and food pairings, which are neither within that price range nor a meal.

Was your winery affected by the fires? We were there this summer and loved the lavender fields. I hope your beautiful winery is ok. Linda

They were indeed affected by the fire, but they have reopened on October 20th. Everything is fine!

We are praying for all the wineries and vineyards in Sonoma and Napa. We're very concerned about one of our favorite wineries and Lavender producers Matanzas Creek. Hope you are okay and spared from the wildfires.

I've been worried about you all. Is everyone all right? Is the winery impacted by the fires? You are all in my thoughts and prayers. Warmly. Shari
