I loved being in the Coast Guard. I went in in 1974 with thr first group of women that was ever active duty. It was also one of the two best jobs I have ever had.
My husband Chris Manning (of 44 yrs) loved being in the USCG as his Father did during WW2. Chris was 1st stationed on Kodiak Is. for 18 mos after Boot Camp at Alameda, CA. Then Yerba Buena Island, San Francisco bay (11th District) for the next 2 & 1/2 yrs which were the Best Times of his life!!!
